The Time To Indulge
The holidays are a great time for toasting! Toast great meals, great friends, family, our blessings, in honor we survived the holidays, or the fact that the decorations are down. The amount of food and beverages can be borderline obscene from Thanksgiving to the New Year! So is the sheer number of events we host, attend, prepare, and plan for! In this season we salute our health knowing full well that we are not really going to focus on it until January. And then January comes! Argh!
The Time For Detox
That’s right! January is here. New Years resolutions for better health, self improvement, and some much needed rest. Approximately 45% of Americans make resolutions and of those 5 of the top ten have to do with health. Whether it is to lose weight, quit smoking, or exercise more people often look at the new year as the perfect time to start.
Some of the best ways to do this are to become active. Many join the local gym to accomplish this. For those of you looking for new ways to get busy with fun a pool can be the perfect addition to your backyard. Of course if you are in the a cooler climate 5 feet of snow may not be the best time to install the above ground pool-kit or to start digging in the frozen tundra for a new in ground pool, but it never hurts to put a plan in motion and start shopping. Swimming is one of the healthiest ways to move because there is less pressure on joints and your entire body gets a workout with low impact.
If you are looking for a more relaxed method of health a Sauna may be just the ticket. We have all heard of sweating out the toxins in our bodies. Well, that doesn’t mean that you have to spend hours running on the treadmill to nowhere. An Infrared Sauna can help you do just that in less time and with much less effort!
Whether it is a pool, or sauna that you choose they each offer the opportunity for fun social time with family and friends. There is one thing that you do not need to is fun with them. Just pick up a water noodle and healthy snacks versus the truffles, cookies and eggnog! Happy 2013!
